Environmental Management and Sustainability   Our company believes that increasing popularity of consumer electronics products and maintaining a healthy environment are not mutually exclusive goals. Therefore, our company have formulated and put into practice a number of policies to minimize impact on the environment and to facilitate the use of resources that are subtainable.   Green Environment   Our company strive for zero release of any hazardous or toxic material into the environment. The RoHS directives of various governing bodies which restrict the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronics products are strictly followed. Our manufacturing processes, throughout the product life cycle, comply with well known environmental protection initiatives. At product design stage, our engineers endeavor to keep the impact of a manufactured product to the environment to the minimum by careful selection and more efficient use of raw materials.   Energy   As traditional methods of generation of energy may release some pollutants to the environment, our company want to tackle this problem in a two-pronged approach, one is to increase energy efficency so less energy is being used, and the other is to encourage the use of clean or renewable energy which are much less polluting. In our products, our company aim to achieve improvied energy savings by methods such as improving power circuit efficiency, reducing internal operating voltage, and use of energy efficient components such as LED. In our factory, while most of the electricity come from electric utility of the city, our company seek to experiment with use of solar power as an source of renewable energy. For machinary which consume relative large amuont of energy, regular maintenance of these machines are carried out, so that these machinary operates at optimal energy efficiency.   Greenhouse Gas   Our company have very little emission of scope 1 greenhouse gas, because our manufacturing process does not directly require the combustion of fossil fuels, refrigerant systems containing greenhouse gas chemicals, or high temperature treatment of raw materials. Also, our motor vehicles comply with the vehicle exhaust emission standards imposed by the government, and low sulphur fuel is used for our vehicles. For scope 2 greenhouse gas, we strive to reduce its emission by methods including improving facility operations efficiency, investing in high efficiency equipment and increasing use of renewable energy.   Water   Water is one of the most important natural resource available to humans, therefore our company makes maintenance of water quality a high priority. Our normal manufacturing process does not produce any hazardous or toxic materials in liquid form, so our waste water can be handled by the sewage system of the city safely. For solid wastes, they are disposed of properly in accordance with various waste disposal laws, and are never mixed with waste water. Our company also aim to keep water usage under good control, so water resource would not be wasted unnecessary. Each month, the fee paid to the city water utility are cross-checked with water meters in various departments in the factory to track water usage, to find out if there is abnormal high usage of water. Whenever possible, attempts are made to reduce the usage of water, by methods such as recycling of water used for cooling for other purposes later, regular checking of plumbing to detect water leak, adoption of equipments with water-saving technology such as those requiring less water flow, and education of employees to encourage a habit of not using excessive water.   Work Environment   Health and safety of employees are our company's utmost concerns, therefore our company make strong efforts to protect their health and safety. Employees are always given training before operating machinary, so accident due to incorrect use of machinary can be avoided. Labels are shown for moving machinary and raw materials in storage, to indicate how to handle them properly. Before joining our company, and at regular interval after joining, employees are given health checks, and those who are identified as having issues are provided with guidance on how to manage their health. The factory is provided with ample fire fighting equipments and alarms, and fire drills enable employees to learn how to evacuate if the situation arise.   Staff Welfare   Happy employees are productive employees, therefore our company provides ample benefits to employees and ensure that they are protected by good labor practice standards. Our company comply with local laws with respect to working hours, including restriction on overtime hours, availability of holidays and sick leaves. Our company respects the opinion of employees, and welcome their suggestions on work environments and their general welfare. Employment of anyone under-age or child labour is strictly prohibited. The dormitory is managed with a high standard to enable employees to enjoy a healthy environment when they are not at work, and they are free to rent nearby accommodation on their own if they do not want to stay in a dormitory.   Recycling   By enabling re-use of material that are otherwise thrown away, negative impact to the environment is minimized. Raw materials leftover after manufacturing process, such as regrind plastic and excess solder, are collected and then re-used after making sure that quality standard can be maintained. The packaging of our company's products are made from recyclable materials. The products themselves are designed in ways that enable easy disassembly and thus allow easy recycling of the included components.
